Recently, Google engineers have identified a crucial requirement for using farproc to root your Samsung Galaxy S – your device must already have root access. When attempting to download and install farproc, you will be prompted for root user permissions. Declining this request will result in an error notice. It’s worth noting that this security feature might not be widely known yet, but through personal experimentation on my Samsung Galaxy S, I can confirm that device rooting is indeed a prerequisite for using farproc.
In my particular case, the installation of Farproc encountered issues. However, if others encounter a similar problem, I recommend giving it a try. If you find it unsatisfactory, it’s easy to uninstall by removing the file from /data/afs and then reinstalling your S Kit.
